The remains of 49 Soviet soldiers who lost their lives in the last battles of World War II, were reburied in the village of Manschnow, Brandenburg, on Wednesday.

The corpses were exhumed by an international search team from a mass grave in Alt Tucheband last April. Volunteer diggers, led by their colleagues from the German Association for the Recovery of the Fallen in Eastern Europe (VBGO), participated in the exhumation. After the expert analysis, all of the soldiers found in the mass grave were able to be identified by name. The names were read out by students from a Russian school in Berlin during the ceremony.
